MSI 8800GT

New Update

MSI 8800GT is based on the latest 8800GT chipset from NVIDIA. Like the

Zebronics 8800GT, the MSI 8800GT also comes with 512 MB GDDR3 RAM, but it's much

sleeker. It has 660 MHz core clock speed and its memory clock speed has been

overclocked to a whopping 1900 MHz. Even though this card comes with support for

HDCP, support for HDMI was missing. Zebronics 8800GT on the other hand had

support for both HDCP and HDMI. If HDMI support is excused then it comes with

all other regular features like dual DVI, SLI, HDTV, etc.

Coming to performance, it is by far the best scorer among all three 8800GT we

reviewed in 3D Mark06. The score of 11295 in 3D Mark06 is higher than the likes

of Zebronics 8800GT (10839 3DMark) or XFX 8800GT Alpha Dog edition (10736

3DMark), clearly indicating its supremacy over others. The high score can easily

be attributed toward higher RAM and over clock features of the card. In our

gaming test also it outscored the other two. In Company of Heroes the average

score of 136.9 fps under max setting was ahead of that achieved by Zebronics

8800GT (133 fps). Even in Crysis it outscored Zebronics 8800GT with a score of

35.5 fps with 2x anti-aliasing (1280x960). Overall the card does give better

performance due to the overclocked memory, and cost 2k less than Zebronics

8800GT, making it a good choice.
