The 'Wind' category notebook from MSI, U210 is meant for
people on the go. With sleek and solid design added with good battery backup
and low weight, this ultra portable notebook can easily be carried around sans
any hassles. The one we received for review is white in color with a large
keyboard. MSI U210 comes with Ergonomics De-Stress keyboard (EDS) which has keys
with 51% more surface area thus ensuring more comfortable typing experience.
Other noticeable features of this laptop include 12.1” LED display which is HD
ready, HDMI out, ATI Radeon Xpress 1270 graphics, and AMD Athlon Neo Processor.
Here point to note is that Athlon Neo Processors are meant for ultra portable
devices similar to Intel's ultra low voltage processors and Atom. The U210
weighs 1.7 kg with adapter thanks to compact form factor.
To check the performance, we carried out tests for
graphics, overall performance and battery. U210 was able to give score of 317
3DMarks, which though not great score but enough to run regular Office
application. Performance of CPU was checked using Cinebench R10 benchmark, and
U210 scored 572 which is again good. Finally when we checked battery backup and
U210 gave almost 4 hours of battery backup which is quite high and comparable to
netbooks.
