Multiple Mail identities

New Update

When sharing a PC, it’s important to keep your e-mail private. Do so by creating multiple user accounts–each with own settings, inbox, and password protection–one for each user that shares the machine. In OE (Outlook Express) 6 go to the File Menu, choose Identities and select Add New Identity from the submenu. Here, you can set a password for Identity.

Once created, it will ask you to switch to the new identity. Choosing yes will close OE and reopen it with the new identity. It will also start an e-mail account-creation wizard. Provide your mail settings and you’re ready to go. If OE doesn’t restart, then re-login. After checking your mail, logoff by going to File Menu, selecting Switch Identity and clicking the “log off identity” button. Next time you can access only your identity by giving your password.
