New Update

The Creative I-Trigue is a 2.1 3000 speaker set with the looks of a supermodel and the voice of a canary. Unfortunately, the satellites are a bit unstable and very much like unstable supermodels can fall off at the slightest push.

The speakers may be small and sleek, but don’t let their size deceive you. They pack quite a punch when it comes to sound output, with the 30 watts RMS sub-woofer and the two 9 watts RMS satellites. The sound is very clear with crisp highs and mids and adequate punchy bass.

There is a little distortion at high volumes, though. The frequency response starts dithering at around 17.5 KHz. This is about the same frequency at which other speakers of this category start giving distorted sound.

There is a handy, but wired, remote with a headphone jack, volume and bass controls, though, surprisingly, a treble control is missing. The satellites are magnetically shielded, while the sub-woofer is not, which isn’t really too much of a problem because it’s usually placed on the floor.

Audiophiles and other techno geeks will love this great set of speakers, which will complement an LCD display or a notebook well. Overall, a great set of speakers, provided, of course, you can afford them.
