At the bus station in Dehradun, a telephone booth caught my

attention—STD-ISD-FAX-EMAIL. E-mail! Here in Dehradun? Again in Rishikesh I found a

phone booth offering e-mail. Rishikesh and e-mail? Yes sir. And Intenet browsing too. The

same story repeated at Laxman Jhoola.

The Internet has changed the world like few things before

it. It has changed the way we communicate, get information, do business. And it’s

everywhere. With proper equipment you could get your e-mail even on top of Mount Everest!

And there are plans to extend the Internet out into space, to the moon and to other

planets. And maybe to a few stars too!
