Aimed at home and small business users, the V920 is a 19” monitor supporting a maximum resolution of 1600×1200 and 76 Hz refresh rate. It has 0.26 mm dot pitch and uses NEC’s proprietary Intelligent power management system, which claims to cut down power consumption by over two thirds. The on-screen menu (OSM) provides most calibration options like moiré correction and degauss. While accessing and operating the menu is pretty simple, the keys are a little tacky. Its picture quality on screen is quite good, giving a crystal clear display. The viewable screen size is an ample 18”, which can be good for watching movies, playing games, or even running applications where you need plenty of desktop real estate. It comes with a standard D-Sub connector for the PC, and if you want to connect it to the Mac, there’s an optional connector available. The best thing about the monitor is its price, which is quite lucrative considering it’s a 19”. Overall, the monitor is a good choice if you have enough desktop space to spare (considering its 455 mm depth) and are looking for a wide screen to work on.
