New faster Apple MacBook Air launches in India and gets Rs 2000 price cut!

Apple has updated the global MacBook Air notebook line-up; with the Intel 4th generation aka Haswell powered MacBook that make it meaner and faster than the previous iterations. First spotted at the Apple WWDC developer conference last year, the most eye-catching aspect about the new MacBook is its optimized battery life largely thanks to capability of Intel Haswell processors.

But the other most interesting aspect about these Macbook is Apple's decision to start selling all the MacBook products under revised price cut up to $100 in US while the amount comes to Rs 2000 for consumers in India.

Compared to the previous version of 1.3 GHz dual-core with Turbo Boost up to 2.6 GHz, the new 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air now packs a 1.4 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost up to 2.7 GHz. And with the above mentioned price reductions, these MacBooks are now priced at Rs 65,900 ($899 in US) and Rs 72,900 ($999 in US), respectively.

Similar price cuts have also been adopted on the 256 GB variants of the MacBook which will now be available at Rs 79,900 for 11 inch and Rs 86,800 for the 13.3 inch model.

Talking about the features of the MacBook Air, you have a 4 GB RAM, HD front camera for FaceTime, Wi-Fi support, 2 USB 3.0 ports for external connectivity and 1 Apple's signature Thunderbolt port complete the entire MacBook package.
