The Times group continues its unbroken run at the top, while NDTV improves its indexed score at number two. As can be seen, the segment is becoming crowded, as more and more people turn towards the Net as one of their key sources of information.

Last year, we had combined the scores got by all websites owned by a group while reporting. This year, we have reported them as is. Thus, Times of India, Indiatimes and Economic Times are reported separately. And so are Hotmail and MSN, all of which made it to the Users’ Choice Club.

If one were to go by this and the fact that more and more people are going online, then the second round of the great wars for eyeballs, and for online revenues (the first phase was during the dotcom boom) is about to start.
