Next Gen Google Nexus 7 Coming to India by end of 2013

If you were wondering whether the next generation Nexus 7 will be coming to India anytime soon then Asus has some good news for the awaiting consumers. Asus, the manufacturer of Google Nexus 7 tablet has reportedly confirmed that it is looking to bring in the slimmer and lighter Nexus 7 tablet to India by end of 2013.

"The process for the second generation is under control, and, hopefully, by our fourth quarter, we will be introducing it to India" Peter Chang, Country Manager for Asus India told the Hindu.

In terms of hardware, Google Nexus 7 comes in streamlined form factor and weighs lighter than the first version at 299 grams. Asus has added a display with Corning Glass and resolution of 1920x1080 pixels or 323 PPI, which is a first for any 7 inch tablet in the market.

Under the hood, the Nexus 7 packs a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor and a bigger 2 GB RAM to supplement high-end gaming, multi-tasking and lots of other things. The tablet also gets dual-stereo speakers much alike the one on Amazon Kindle Fire HD.

The slate is powered by latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean platform and you have a 1.2 MP front and 5 MP rear cameras on the Nexus 7. According to Google, the new Nexus 7 will offer 9 hours of HD playback and 10 hours of web browsing, making it the perfect on-the-go device.

It will be interesting to see how Asus decides to price the new Nexus 7 in India. The 16 GB Nexus 7 was launched for Rs 15,999 earlier this year.
