The Nokia 5.4 has launched today and the first impressions of the phone look promising. The made in India smartphone is targetted towards the budget segment and packs specifications accordingly.

On the physical front, it has a 6.39-inch HD+ display with a 16-megapixel punch-hole camera in the top left corner of the screen. On the back, it has a glossy polycarbonate finish that gives it a premium and minimalist look and feel. The fingerprint scanner is mounted on the back of the phone and is fairly reachable considering the size of the phone.

The phone houses a quad-camera set-up that has a 48-megapixel primary camera with an f1.8 aperture. Apart from that, the ultrawide angle lens is a 5-megapixel shooter accompanied by a 2-megapixel camera for depth and another 2-megapixel lens for macro shots.

No ports have been compromised on the phone, and it does come with a dedicated headphone jack. In times when chargers are supposed to be bought separately, this mid-ranger from Nokia does look alien. Adding to that feeling of alienation, the phone also comes with Nokia branded earphones in the box along with a power brick with a 10-watt output, a USB-A to USB-C cable and a SIM ejector tool.

The SIM ejector tool helps you access the SIM tray where you can insert not one but two SIMs while using a dedicated SD card. The SIM tray has 3 sections so that customers can actually have a no-compromise experience. A new thing is the addition of a dedicated Google Assistant button on the phone. This button brings up Google Assistant to your disposal with the press of a button.

Nokia, with this phone, aimed at providing a true and clean android experience to the user. The OS is ad-free and bloatware-free, which apparently is another plus in today's time. The company also claimed that the phone will receive at least 2 years of security as well as software updates. The phone runs on Android 10 out of the box but is set to receive a software update soon.

On the inside, the phone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor available in 4 GB and 6 GB variants with 64 GB of storage. The 4000mah battery should be enough keeping in mind that there are no ads and bloatware consuming it.

The camera performance of the phone is decent and not much can be expected from a mid-range device. However, the Ultrawide images would have looked better if it was an 8-megapixel camera instead of 5.

The Biometrics of the phone work well, and it can be unlocked by fingerprint as well as the face. The base variant of the phone with 4 GB RAM is priced at 13,999 and the 6 GB RAM variant is priced at 15,499.
