New Update

The company has upgraded its high-selling Lumia 520 smartphone with better memory and renamed it as Lumia 525. Other than that, you get the same 4 inch display, rear camera sans flash and same battery.

Design and Performance

The Lumia 525 comes with glossy polycarbonate casing replacing the dull matte look on the 520. Lumia 525 is the exact replica of 520, therefore we are not going to dwell deeply into the product features and hardware except the fact that it is powered by a 1 GB RAM instead of the 512 MB on Lumia 520.

This upgradation enables 525 to support all the applications available on Windows Store including popular titles like Subway Surfer, Temple Run 2 and Asphalt 7 among others. Considering memory is the only big change on the Lumia 525 we would like to inform you that it has a definite advantage over its predecessor.

Not only do you get more gaming title support, one can also observe a slight improvement in terms of performance, responsiveness which abodes well for any first-time smartphone buyer who is not averse to non-Android options. Just to give you a better idea, we ran Antutu benchmark on both Lumia 520 and Lumia 525 which gave us scores of 7139 and 7694 respectively. The 5 MP camera fitted at the back satisfies with images clicked during day time but anything more than that is just not up to the task. Same goes with the battery life which lasts anywhere between 8-10 hours on normal usage (using either Wi-Fi or 3G connectivity).
