Norton AntiVirus Enterprise Edition

This pack includes anti-virus protection for the upcoming Windows 2000 Server and Professional, Win NT Server 4, Win 9x, DOS/Win 3.x, and NetWare 3.12, 3.2, 4.1x, and 5. It installs what’s called the Symantec System Center console on the servers, and Norton AntiVirus on the clients. The package comes with good management features.

You’ll need to install Norton AntiVirus Enterprise Edition 5 on your client. This lets you scan all types of viruses–boot sector, COM, EXE, macro viruses, et al. Upon virus detection, you can fix, delete, or quarantine the infected file. You can run live updates to get the latest virus signatures. It also has real-time monitoring to constantly scan all file activity on your PC. You can scan e-mail coming from Microsoft Exchange server. It stores all virus activity events in an event log.

On the server



The server has what’s called the Symantec System Center console that lets you roll out the package to other servers on the network. It acts as the central management console for your network.
