Nothing Phone 2, the UK-based brand's second smartphone offering, was released in India in July of this year. Nothing Phone 3 is projected to emerge as a possible successor to the Phone 2 around the same period in 2024. Carl Pei's company has announced a February 2024 event at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). This could be the first indication of its upcoming product introduction. Notably, Nothing confirmed the launch of the Nothing Phone 2 at the 2023 MWC.
The 'Nothing to See' event will take place on 27 February
Nothing has been announced that it has organised an event for the MWC 2024 via a media invite (via RapidZapper). The 'Nothing to See' event will take place on 27 February. The MWC 2024 event occurs in Barcelona from 26 February to 29 February.
If Nothing's previous manoeuvres are any indication, the February event can be viewed as an early teaser for the Nothing Phone 3 or Phone (2a). Nothing leveraged prior MWC presentations to generate interest in its Phone 1 and Phone 2 models. Carl Pei debuted a prototype of the Nothing Phone 1 at MWC 2022, and the brand confirmed the Snapdragon 8-series processor for the Phone 2 at this year's MWC.
Rumours about Nothing Phone 3
Rumours about Nothing Phone 3 or Phone (2a) circulated earlier this year. The business is expected to maintain its transparent back design with the new handset.
A Nothing smartphone with the model number A142 was recently discovered on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website. It will likely have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display and a mid-range Snapdragon or MediaTek Dimensity CPU.
- AI-powered Features: More AI-powered features are rumoured, potentially for enhanced photography, user experience, and optimization.
- Sustainability Focus: Nothing's commitment to sustainable practices could lead to recycled materials used in the Phone 3's construction.
Nothing's smartphone range currently includes the Nothing Phone 1 and Nothing Phone 2. The latter was introduced in July and has a starting price of Rs. 44,999 for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC powers it and has a redesigned Glyph Interface with LED lights.
