The report confirms that Gmail will finally get a translation feature, but it's a server-side change and it's starting to appear for some users. It will be rolled out gradually and it will take some time before it is visible to all users around the world. The feature will appear in version 2023.07.23.x. So, make sure you have installed the latest version of Gmail app on your smartphone.

It is also important to note that the feature is currently only visible in the Android version. The iOS version of the app will get this feature in the coming weeks.

As the name suggests, Gmail Translator allows users to translate an entire email message into a language of their choice. For example, if we have an email in English and you want to translate it to French or Hindi, you can use this feature. However, the feature adds a new standard called Translate. By tapping on it, you can choose a language or suggest a translation for the already selected language. But there is also an option to show the original language.

The translation feature currently allows users to choose one of 100 available languages. Additionally, a pop-up banner will automatically appear if the email language does not match the Gmail language. However, there is an option to manually translate the entire content of the email by tapping the three-dot overflow menu in the upper right corner.
