What's new in iMessage?

It gives iOS users the ability to send messages and memos with a light effect on their iPhones and iPads. The instant messaging app also has a feature that lets users edit or even remember a message they've sent within 15 minutes.

In case that wasn't enough, the most recent version of iOS 16's iMessage lets users send and receive messages with an effect known as "Invisible Ink." When recipients tap on the message, only the text will be displayed.

Messages with Invisible Ink iOS users can use the Invisible Ink feature in iMessage to hide the text of their messages. Apple asserts that private messages can be sent using invisible ink that is only visible when the recipient swipes to reveal it.

Although it may appear to be a minor feature, iMessage users may find it useful if they simply wish to send their loved ones a text with a unique effect. It's important to know that this feature only works with iOS 16.

To help you send an "invisible" text on iMessage, follow these steps:

  1. If you haven't already, update your iOS device to iOS 16, the most recent version.
  2. On your iPhone, open the iMessage application.
  3. Navigate to the conversation you want to send an invisible message to.
  4. Enter your message here. The message can also include a Memoji or a picture.
  5. Tap and hold the send button right now.
  6. Tap the gray dots that are located opposite the Send button. To preview the effect, select the Invisible Ink option next.
  7. In addition, users can preview the effects and add additional effects to messages by selecting from Slam, Loud, or Gentle.
  8. After choosing your effects, click the Send button to send the message. Finally, a blurred version of the message will be sent to the recipient.

When you send a message using "Invisible Ink," it won't show the text, so anyone who tries to look at your screen or scroll through your phone won't see it right away.

The message, which will not become visible until you tap and hold on it, will remain invisible to both the sender and the recipient.
