New Update

The Problem: Being a software products company, Nucleus Software had no effective way of protecting its IPR. Its developers and pre-sales consultants carried the product source code and entire products on their laptops and desktops. A solution was needed to prevent data leakage across various channels like email, Internet, storage sites, etc. Plus, the company's HR department wanted to safeguard employee salary info, organizational processes and policies, etc.

The Solution: The company deployed WebSense's data security products. These were used for creating content based policies, intercept all outbound traffic on SMTP, do web filtering and enforce content policies, and even do remote filtering for machines outside the corporate network. The data copied to such enabled USBs was not tracked in the absence of any tracking mechanism.

The Result: Open Internet access provided to all employees, which was earlier restricted. This freed up 35 machines that were earlier used as kiosks. Earlier 25-30 events of sensitive data going out were happening per day, which has dropped by 90%.
