Nvidia's recently launched RTX 4060 Ti graphics card is facing a bleak future as reports suggest there is virtually no consumer interest in the product, leading to predictions of weak sales. Influential hardware YouTuber Moore's Law is Dead, known for having reliable industry sources, revealed this grim outlook in a recent video. They interviewed several retailers across the United States and Europe, all of whom painted a similarly disheartening picture.

One particularly telling example is Micro Center, which reported "zero" interest from consumers in the RTX 4060 Ti. In fact, the lack of demand was so apparent that the retailer decided against opening their stores early, a usual practice during Nvidia GPU launches when fans eagerly queue to purchase the new cards. Micro Center has only ordered a few cards for each location, and some stores may even struggle to sell a single unit of the RTX 4060 Ti. Similarly, in Japan, VideoCardz noted that only one person showed up to buy the graphics card at the retailer Dospara Akihabara on its launch day.

The situation appears equally discouraging elsewhere. A major U.S. retailer confessed that they don't expect to restock the RTX 4060 Ti for several months once their initial supply is sold. Furthermore, they hinted that third-party models of the graphics card could be priced significantly higher than the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP), with companies hoping consumers will be willing to pay prices comparable to the more powerful RTX 3070. This pricing strategy is unlikely to generate interest among potential buyers.

Previously, we highlighted Nvidia's shift toward artificial intelligence (AI) as a possible factor that could strain the supply of gaming GPUs in the future. However, with the RTX 4060 Ti, this scenario seems highly unlikely. One source shared with Moore's Law is Dead that the card might be readily available due to low demand. This sentiment was echoed by a distributor in a European Union country, who revealed minimal demand for the RTX 4060 Ti during the launch period.

Interestingly, German retailer Mindfactory responded to the lackluster demand by slashing the price of the RTX 4060 Ti just four hours after its release, lowering it by €20 below the MSRP to €419, as reported by VideoCardz. Despite this reduced price, Mindfactory managed to sell only around 20 units, according to German news site 3DCenter.

Given the RTX 4060 Ti's affordable pricing, Nvidia likely expected it to be a popular choice in an era of rising living costs. However, the opposite appears to be true. The company will undoubtedly be hoping for a turnaround in sales, but the initial indications are far from encouraging.
