New Update

Nvidia, the graphics processing unit major, added another product to its latest Kepler architecture-based range, GTX 760 that comes with a high processing power of 2.3 gigaflops and all this at a price of less than Rs 20,000.

The GeForce GTX 760 is equipped with NVIDIA GPU Boost 2.0 technology that results in increased GPU clock speed offering top end performance without burning a hole in pocket.

The GTX 760 comes with temperature target and fan controls, as well as with extra over-voltage headroom for advanced water-cooling. In terms of looks, the GTX 760 is another good looking GPU from Nvidia and unlike GTX 770's metallic finish this one has a sober yet elegant look to it. The GPU is quite silent and does not feel like it's running, even when it is. No heating issues observed assure that while gaming for long hours, the GPU will not act weirdly.

The GeForce GTX 760 also supports NVIDIA's latest array of gaming technologies, including the NVIDIA PhysX physics engine and NVIDIA TXAA anti-aliasing. It also includes the new NVIDIA GeForce Experience software.

Unlike its previous model, GTX 770, GTX 760 is much more affordable and for its pricing, the GPU is able to deliver good quality performance, as indicated via our benchmark scores. In terms of technical specs, the GTX 760 falls along the lines of Sapphire HD 7870 which we had reviewed previously.

The graphics rendering of GTX 760 has nothing to boast about but as an effective performer, we have seen encouraging output especially from gamers' point of views. We made use of our test bed, 3.3 GHz Intel Core i7 CPU; 4 GB RAM and based on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. With this machine, the 3DMark 11 score was P1782 which is quite average for a GPU and on Cinebench 11.5 the GTX 760 got 30.1 fps. For gaming benchmark, we made use of Fraps on gaming title, Resident Evil 6 and Doom 3 where the graphics card gave us 47 fps and 63 fps respectively at full brightness and on 1920x1080 display resolution. The Sapphire HD 7870's 3DMark 11 score is 6863 and on Cinebench 11.5, it gave 56.3 fps both higher than the GTX 760.
