Bangalore,India: Microsoft has launched Office 365 Home Premium, which provides a family license that can be used to install Microsoft Office 2013 on up to
5 PCs or Macs, and also on 5 mobile devices. Additionally, the package provides 20GB more storage, on top of the free 7GB provided on SkyDrive, for a
family to store all of their photos and documents online. Office web apps are also included, and this means you can work on documents through your browser
itself.

An interesting new feature is “Office on demand”, which allows users to stream versions of office applications to a PC that is not licensed under the
subscription. This gives the users liberty to either edit their documents online, or use the traditional windows application. When asked about the benefit
this package will give families, who might feel satisfied using the free Office web apps available, Microsoft responded that the ability to install local
versions of Office as well meant they could work offline if they chose to. However, one caveat is that “Office on demand” only works on PCs running Windows
7 or later, so Mac users should be aware of this. Office 365 Home Premium is available in India for an annual subscription of INR 4,199/-.
