The Nomad-Jet 100 is a small and light inkjet printer for mobile professionals, weighing just 1.1 kg. It can connect to a notebook over a USB cable, which you have to buy separately, or it can also work over an IR port. The printer’s paper path is such that the paper comes out vertically. It can be powered through mains, or through a pack of Ni-Mh or Ni cd rechargeable batteries. If, for some reason, you can’t recharge the batteries you can also use 10 AA size standard alkaline batteries.
Installing the printer is easy, as it has multilingual drivers for windows 9X, NT, Me and 2000. We printed a few pages of text from this printer, and it gave a speed of 1.5 ppm, against its rated 4 ppm. The quality of the text was crisp, and the smallest readable font size was 4. The printer comes with a monochrome cartridge, and the color cartridge has to be purchased separately.
The printer supports a variety of print media like high-resolution paper, transparencies, glossy paper and photo cards.
