Operation Shattered Web brings characters to CS:GO for the first time

Valve has for a while been at the receiving end of CS:GO fans for not giving the game enough attention. Many also jokingly accused Valve of giving Dota 2 the preferential treatment and treating Counter Strike as its bastard child. But recently, the conversation around CS:GO has been picking up the steam and Valve seems to have finally heard the fans. They have released Operation Shattered Web for CS:GO now, which is their first operation in 2 years since Operation Hydra was released in 2017.

What makes this event special is that Valve has finally created characters for CS:GO. These characters come in four tiers: Distinguished Agent, Exceptional Agent, Superior Agent and Master Agent. Four Master Agents are coming with Operation Shattered Web. What makes them special is that they will have their own Voice lines and animations.

The characters can be unlocked by earning mission stars. Earning 100 stars will unlock a Master Agent. Each week, the players will be given a mission card, which will earn them a maximum of 6 stars, except for the first week which will grant 10 stars. The operation will last for “more than 16 weeks” according to the official blog by Valve, so it seems that players will only be able to ger one Master Agent.

Apart from this, there are also two new maps coming. One of them is a community created Danger Zone Map called Jungle. The other one is a low gravity map for Flying Scoutsman called Lunacy, which is a new lunar outpost.

How can any battlepass be complete without new weapon skins? Operation Shattered web also brings four new collections of weapon skins namely Norse, St. Marc, Canals, and Shattered Web. These skins will be exclusive to the operation. The knives are also getting new finishes. You have a chance to get them by opening a Shattered Web case.
