Oppo Reno 8 5g and Redmi K50i 5G; competitors in same market segment

These two mid-range smartphones Oppo Reno 8 5G and Redmi K50i 5G recently launched in India. Both these brands are quite popular amongst customers and are likely to face competition in their market segment.

Oppo Reno 8 5G was introduced with the launch of the Oppo Reno 8 series in the market at a price of Rs 26,999 whereas Redmi K50i is priced at Rs 25,999. The two smartphones have almost similar specifications, with Redmi having a slightly higher edge over Reno.

The Redmi K50i comes with a 6.6-inch FHD+ LCD FFS display panel with a 144Hz 7-stage adaptive refresh rate. Powered with MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset, it is available in either 6GB or 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The phone sports a triple camera setup on the back comprising a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro sensor. There is also a 16MP front camera.

The phone also comes with a 5,080mAh battery and 67W fast charging support with a charger in the box.

Oppo Reno 8 specifications:

The smartphone comes with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display panel with Full HD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 800 nits peak brightness. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection on top. The Oppo Reno 8 5G packs an Octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1300 processor and comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone is powered by a 4,500mAh battery with 80W fast charging support.

The Reno 8 5G is installed with the triple camera setup at the rear, consisting of a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. It has a 32-megapixel shooter at the front.
