New OxygenOS 14 features

  • In a forum thread, the company announced some new features coming to OxygenOS 14.
  • This update introduces the Trinity Engine, which, according to OnePlus, is designed to handle multitasking, heavy lifting, and extended usage better than previous OS platforms by distributing the phone's internal resources to improve performance and offer longer battery life.
  • Compared to OxygenOS 13, OnePlus believes that the OnePlus 11 running OxygenOS 14 can get an extra 20 minutes of battery life without losing performance.
  • ROM Vitalisation in OxygenOS 14 makes OnePlus handsets perform faster and smoother after 48 months of constant use.
  • The HyperRendering, HyperTouch, and HyperBoost technologies are intended to provide a more immersive and fluid gaming experience with OxygenOS 14.
  • According to OnePlus, the next HyperBoost version will integrate AI machine learning, intelligent performance control, and graphics element layout approaches to help alleviate power consumption issues while maintaining a consistent frame rate experience.

OnePlus has added the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE)-based Device Security Engine 3.0 in OxygenOS 14 for security. Upgrades to the Security Centre will also include a new unified interface to make it easier for users to adjust the device's security and privacy settings. OxygenOS 14 also has Strong Box, a chip-level security encryption technology powered by the built-in eSE (embedded Secure Element) security chip to protect third-party password usage. According to OnePlus, Auto Pixelate 2.0 on OxygenOS 14 conceals extra private information, such as contact information and credit card data, when sharing screenshots. OxygenOS 14 offers a new photo and video permission management option with the "Ask every time" function. When this option is selected, a pop-up window will appear asking for permission before the application can access photographs and videos.
