You are a frequent traveler and can’t tolerate the notebook speaker sound. The 5.1 CH OZAKI travel sound notebook speaker lets you enjoy digital sound with two speakers. The compact speaker hooks to the LCD screen and fits into the pocket too. The speaker utilizes USB 1.1 bus power and output power is 1W. However, the system lacks any sort of audio control button. This is cumbersome when you want to control the audio properties frequently. The speaker system also lacks a remote control that would have overcome this limitation.

The audio software that comes with the speaker offers an option of listening to music according to the environment, such as when you are in the living room or in a forest. The software also lets you control the channels. We tried out the speaker in various environments and the difference is noticeable. The catch is that it requires 978 MB of disk space, which is large. The overall frequency response supported by the speaker is 310 Hz to 20 KHz.

Talking of the performance, the results were satisfactory and would have been better if the output power was more. There was a little distortion at the maximum volume but it did well at lower volumes.

The Bottom Line:
The price it comes for, makes it a good buy if you are ready to compromise on the output power and the lack of audio control.
