This is a micro ATX motherboard with socket 478 supporting P4 and Celeron processors, which run on 400 MHz FSB. It uses Intel 845G chipset which houses integrated on-board graphics (Intel Extreme Graphics Controller) and on-board Audio (AC ’97 2 channel). The motherboard can take up to 2 GB of DDR Memory in its two-memory slots.
This motherboard has six USB 2.0 connectors, two on-board and the rest on USB adapters. It has three PCI slots for future expansion, and a WOL connector. To check out the performance of this motherboard we used a P4 2.2 GHz processor with 128 MB DDR Ram, Seagate Barracuda 20 GB ATA II (7200 rpm hard drive), on-board display with 8 MB shared and Win XP Professional. The board scored 45.3 and 51.5 in Business and Content Creation Winstone 2001 respectively, which is more then sufficient to run regular productivity and high-end applications.
The Bottom Line: The best part about the board is its price. At Rs 4750, it’s a very affordable board.
