Panasonic Launches P99 with 4G VoLTE at Rs 7,490

Panasonic has increased the footprint of its budget smartphones in India by launching the P99. The handset costs Rs 7,490 and comes with 4G VoLTE support. The P99 can be purchased from select retail outlets in three colour variants - Blue, Champagne Gold and Black.

The Android 7.0 Nougat-based Panasonic P99 sports a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display. Under-the-hood, the budget smartphone is powered by a quad-core processor, clubbed with 2GB RAM. It includes 16GB of storage and also supports microSD card to expand it further to 128GB.

The Panasonic P99 features an 8MP rear camera with LED flash. The camera comes with several modes including HDR, Watermark, Panorama, Burst Shot, Beauty mode and others. There is a 5MP camera with its own set of modes.

Backed by a 2000mAh battery, the Panasonic P99 smartphone measures 144.6x71.8x8.6mm and weighs 145 grams.
Given the price range of the smartphone, it directly competes with the Nokia 3, which is available for around Rs 8,500 online. The handset has a 5-inch IPS display with HD (720x1280 pixels) resolution. It sports an 8MP autofocus front and back camera sensors with f/2.0 aperture. Powered by the quad-core MediaTek MT6737, the Nokia 3 includes 2GB RAM with 16GB expandable storage. It is backed by a 2630mAh battery.
Earlier this month, Panasonic launched its Eluga I4 priced at Rs 8,290. The Eluga I4 sports the exact same specifications as the P99 but has its own AI assistant called Arbo. It also has a bigger battery - 3000mAh.
Panasonic also launched a Rs 2,70,000 Toughbook laptop in India. Called as the CF-33, the device is said to be ideal for Police, emergency services, government agencies, defense, field service workers, maintenance and service technicians in the utilities and telecommunications. The company claims that it is the world's first fully rugged two-in-one detachable laptop to come with 3:2 aspect ratio.
