LastPass is a password and data management program that effortlessly allows users to organize and keep track of their login data. Almost all website today require a registration process for security purpose and with every registration a password is associated. It becomes extremely toilsome for users to remember passwords of a variety of their online accounts. LastPass is an easy solution to this which makes web browsing more secure. Downloading and installing LastPass takes only a few minutes and is done by simple steps that demand the user to select the install options, creation of an account, importing important data and form filling. On completion, a small icon appears in browsers menu corner.

Once you log on to LastPass by entering the master password, the icon is turned into red. Hereafter, you just have to remember this master password until all account passwords are imported into the LastPass vault (database). Whenever LastPass detects that an account user is trying to log on to a site which is is not stored in its vault, it will ask the user to 'save site' and enter a specific group to that account as clearly visible.





Now when the user tries to log on the account again, the password will appear automatically and the user can sign in directly. The highlighted textfield tells that the information for this account has been stored in LastPass.



LastPass Vault is the page that allows the user to see all the sites in which it is logged in along with their last access time and other associated details as seen in the background.

Form Filling: This feature helps to save user's time and effort. User can create a profile in LastPass by selecting the form fill profile button and filling in the necessary details as displayed. This information is encrypted and stored locally into the PC. Now if a site requires the user to fill a form, user can select its profile and the information stored in that profile will be decrypted and updated in the form of the site.

Generate New Password: Some websites when ask the user to create a new password, LastPass detects the requirement and generates a strong password that is difficult to guess. If the user accepts the generated password, then this is updated in the website password's fields. For future reference, the user can view this generated password in the LastPass Vault.



Add Secure Notes: If the user intends to store some confidential information like bank account/credit card numbers then this can easily be done by selecting 'add secure note' after logging into LastPass. All the relevant information can be added and viewed later.

LastPass is great software for those who have to handle multiple accounts. The user just needs to remember the master password and eliminates the need to remember all the login names and passwords. It stores the user's data locally into the browser so actually LastPass also can't view the data. This proves how secure the software is. By clicking on its icon on the top right hand corner of the browser, a drop down local vault is open which is quite simple to access. LastPass saves a lot of time by making the user log onto a website in just one click. Moreover it has many applications to synchronize and manage mobile devices.
