Paytm’s marketplace adds mobile phone and camera category

Paytm has announced the launch of two new categories added to the portfolio, Mobile phones and Cameras. The firm announced that it'll now offer a wide variety of mobile handsets and camera brands. Its app is available on both iOS and Android and has registered 6 million downloads.

It will now feature phones from all popular brands including Samsung, Apple, Nokia and many more. There will be a range of devices starting from entry levels to the flagships. Paytm is also running a lowest price challenge on select handsets. Apart from that, it also has over 900 camera models from brands like Sony, Canon, Nikon, etc. The app will also enable customers to enjoy benefits like Rs.500 cashback facility on select mobile phones.

Talking about this new add-on, Deepak Abbot, AVP, Paytm said, "Paytm's mobile marketplace has been doing exceedingly well since its very inception in February this year. The idea behind introducing the two new categories is to offer more choices for our consumers. Mobile phones and cameras are undoubtedly very popular amongst today's shoppers. We will continue to add more products in the mobile and camera category to make it a comprehensive catalogue, on a single platform. We aim to reach out to more and more people with best-of-breed products coupled with exciting offers."

Paytm mobile marketplace has a huge product portfolio with over 1,00,000 items for users on one mobile platform. Buyers can also bargain with the merchants through a text messenger. And with this Paytm aims about 1 million transactions in a day.
