Irving Berling might have been orchestrating a version of his memorable,

“Anything you can do, I can do better,” in Intercontinental Lalit's ballroom,

when the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) was called on to accept their

award. Dinesh Kumar, Executive Director-IT, claimed the award for the most

innovative project in this year. The video compiled by PCQuestshowed how NTPC

used a collaborative framework to speed up development of its 40+ power

projectsKumar's brainchild integrated 40+ projects and kept them on track by

resolving critical issues on time. Eko Microfinance was recognized for its

social impact for their application-SimpliBank. Matteo Chiampo, COO, Eko

Financial Services, in the video, described his journey and his idea. The

application caters to a largely illiterate/semi-literate population who are

uncomfortable operating a bank account. SimpliBank is core banking solution

deployed in the cloud and operated by consumers from their mobile phone and

banks shy away from them because their transaction volumes are very low.. Along

lines very similar to Eko Financial Services, one of India's most popular banks,

Bank of Punjab, snagged the Best Automation Project. PNB had sponsored six

regional rural banks in turn empowering 1400 branches to implement core banking

solutions. Ajay Misra, General Manager (CTO), said, the implementation in RRBs

had started reaping the benefits in terms of improved customer services,

improved housekeeping and centralized generation of MIS reports.
