New Update

The earlier processes that Pfizer had been using to collect talent-related

data gave disintegrated data that required a lot of effort and time to collate

and analyze. The HR department felt the need to have an integrated talent

management system which would create a pool of ready talent for optimal

deployment, and empower the workforce to manage and track their individual

growth. To achieve this, the Business Technology team and HR department decided

to implement a cost-effective, scalable and secure web-based talent management

system called 'Asset'. This system has the capability to identify candidates for

suitable positions, creating succession plans. The system is based on Windows

2003 Server and SQL Server 2000 and integrates with Outlook 2003 to send

automatic notifications and alerts to the relevant people. This n-tier solution

is developed in ASP and designed using Windows DNA Architecture to address the

requirements of each tier in the multi-tier solution. The services used in

Windows DNA are integrated through COM (Component Object Model). It sends

automated e-mail to immediate boss, once a person finishes filling up his form.
