The new back bling was introduced to encourage players to test out Fortnite's new PvE horde mode Zero Build Horde Rush. Players can obtain a Pickle Rick back bling for themselves in a series of Zero Build Horde Rush-only tasks until 15 November 2022.

The game option Horde Rush has been given a new twist in Horde Rush, in which players are put within a pre-closed circle on the map and must go from site to location while fending against various kinds of Cube Monsters. The game mode has standard mobility and weaponry, but there is no way to use Fortnite's construction system. Players enter a scene, engage waves of Cube Monsters, and eliminate the totems that create them.
