The slide holder can hold up to four transparencies at a time and the filmstrip holder can hold one strip of six frames. The scanner has one illuminated slide-viewer on top of it, which provides users an excellent way to examine the slide before it is scanned. The OpticFilm 7200 has 48-bit scanning capability. The scanner ships with plenty of useful software such as Presto

PageManager, ImageFolio, Mr. Photo and Image Explorer. Plustek has additional software called SilverFast SE with this scanner using which you can view, edit and improve images in the preview mode, before they are scanned.

It took just 20 secs to scan a transparency at 600 dpi with good quality output. We also scanned one transparency at its maximum resolution of 7200 dpi in about 4

mins. Since this is not a flat-bed scanner, it cannot scan other types of documents or photographs.

The Bottom Line: The quality and speed of this film scanner can make it a good choice for professional photographers who use transparencies and negatives.
