New Update

This ultra-slim and lightweight scanner from Plustek is very convenient for the mobile users. So compact that you can even keep it in your briefcase and take it anywhere. The scanner has just one USB interface for connectivity and does not require any power adaptor-it takes the power through the USB cable. It has five one-touch action buttons for copy, OCR, e-mail and scan. It also has an additional programmable button that can be set up for any other action. The scanner

comes with advanced color CIS (Contact Image Sensor) technology for scanning. The hardware resolution supported by it is 1200 x 2400 dpi. It includes useful software such as Presto Page Manager, Image Folio, Mr Photo, Abbey fine reader and Adobe acrobat reader. These software can be used to enhance the quality of your images. Its Abbey fine reader OCR software can recognize scanned text in color, black and white, and grayscale. It can do so in 53 languages. We scanned a color image of A4 size for different resolutions and noticed the time it took to scan and the quality it gave. It took 20 secs at 100 dpi and 55 secs at 300 dpi. The quality at both resolutions was average.

The Bottom Line: Well worth its price tag, with good OCR capabilities.
