Plustek OptiCard 600+

This palm-sized BCR can scan cards of A8 size at 600 dpi and can recognize different business card layouts. Sadly, it can scan only in b/w or in grayscale modes. It can send scanned images directly to Cardiris 3.0, that manages the digital versions of cards. It can automatically perform orientation, de-skewing, cropping and OCR after scanning. Has a good speed of just 6

secs/card.

Plustek OptiCard 820

It can scan photos in color and has separate buttons on the top for scanning and

BCR. It bundles: Presto Image Folio, Presto MrPhoto 3 and Cardiris 3.0. The optical resolution is 600 dpi, which can be enhanced to 1200 dpi . It scans a visiting card in 7 secs under the grayscale mode and 8 secs for the color mode at a resolution of 300 dpi. The maximum scanning area is 4.1 x 5.8 inches. Cards scanned are accurately reproduced in most cases in its Cardiris database.

The Bottom Line: Both are good buys for those who want to digitize and manage their business cards.
