Google Pixel 8 smartphones will be available on 4 October, along with the Pixel Watch 2. Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are among the smartphone models available. Both devices will be available for purchase in India on 5 October. Several leaks about Google's future smartphone series and wristwatch have surfaced before the announcement. A fresh source has leaked press renders of the Google Pixel 8 series and Pixel Watch 2, revealing the design and hints at the devices' features.

The Google Pixel 8 is believed to have a 6.17-inch Full HD AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120HZ and a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels as its base model. Meanwhile, the Pixel 8 Pro is expected to include a 6.7-inch OLED display panel with a 3120x1440 pixel resolution. It, too, may have a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

According to the source, the Pixel 8 will include 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB and 256GB storage options. A Google Tensor G3 SoC is said to power it. The Pixel 8 Pro will be available in three storage configurations: 12GB RAM + 128GB storage, 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage.

Both smartphones would feature a 50-megapixel primary back camera. In the dual camera unit, the Google Pixel 8 would include a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 sensor for ultra-wide-angle pictures, and the Pixel 8 Pro would have a triple camera unit with a 64-megapixel and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. Both models are rumoured to have an 11-megapixel sensor for selfies.

Regarding pricing, the Pixel 8 is projected to start at 799 euros (approximately Rs. 70,200), while the Google Pixel 8 Pro could start at EUR 1099 (almost Rs. 96,500).

Pixel Watch 2

The Pixel Watch 2 is the next device in line, with a 1.2-inch OLED display. A Snapdragon W5 Gen1 CPU could power the wearable. It is said to have 2GB of RAM. The wristwatch would include advanced features such as an optical heart rate monitor, an oxygen saturation tracker, and a multi-purpose sensor. It is expected to be powered by a 306mAH battery and run Wear OS 4. The Pixel Watch 2 could start at EUR 399 (about Rs. 35,000).
