iPhone 15 and 15 Plus: Assembled at Foxconn's Sriperumbudur facility in Tamil Nadu

According to insiders, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are assembled at Foxconn's Sriperumbudur facility in Tamil Nadu. Both 'Make in India' iPhones will be shipped to foreign nations, another first. Because of the premiumization of the smartphone industry, an increase in first-time users switching from Android to the Apple ecosystem, and a young population, India is now one of Apple's top five worldwide markets, behind China, the United States, Japan, and the United Kingdom.

According to industry insiders, the entry-level iPhone 15 models would experience a substantial increase in India since "there is a significant upgrade for those shifting from previous iPhone 11, 12, and even 13-gen models." According to the latest figures, Apple iPhones will have a 7% market share in India's Android-dominates smartphone market this year, thanks to indigenous manufacturers.

Apple iPhone shipments in the country have increased

In the first half of this year, Apple iPhone shipments in the country increased by 68% yearly. According to projections, iPhone 15 shipments in the launch quarter, which heralds the enormous Christmas season in India, would be over 65 percent, owing to an intensified 'Make in India' programme.

Last September, the tech giant began assembling the iPhone 14 at the Foxconn factory in India, a first in years when a new iPhone was built in the nation within weeks of its global launch.
