Over the last few months, we have seen a slew of projectors being introduced in the market. We noticed a drastic change as far as the size and weight of these projectors are concerned. NEC India recently launched its V-series line of projectors. We received the V300X projector for review.
Features
The V300X displays bright images from the latest DLP engine. The projector is 3.7/12.2/9.7 inches, and it weighs just 2.4 kilos, which make it quite small and light enough to carry with you. Also this projector gives you a variety of inputs like HDMI, two VGA connectors for computers or component video sources, audio inputs like two stereo mini jacks as well as composite and S-video inputs with audio inputs (pair of L/R RCS jacks). With all these optional connectivity, all you need to do is just plug in the appropriate cables, adjust the 1.1x zoom, and focus the image.
Performance
|
NEC V300X took less then 5 seconds to start up which is impressive. While shutting down, the projector does not require cool down period either. With the AutoSense technology, the projector syncs with most computer signals, and is ready to use , regardless of whether the computer or the projector was powered up first. This projector is also very easy to handle. You can correct color adjust, keystone, zoom and focus from both the remote and the unit. There are even settings to adjust the color to compensate for a non-white screen. This will help the user to go for almost any projecting background. This projector 3000 lumens brightness, 1024×768 resolution and up to 5,000 hours of lamp life and 2000:1 contrast ratio. Based on DLP engine, the V300X comprises 3D capability, and BrilliantColor technology for enhanced color exactness. In adddition to that, its filter-free design eliminates the hassle and time spent monitoring and changing filters. Another great feature which we liked about this projector is its inimitable power management competence, which enables the projector to automatically turn off while an incoming signal is not detected from any of the inputs. It has built-in 7-watt speaker we found to be just about average. We would recommend you to attach a good pair of speakers for getting a better audio output.
Bottomline: Affordable and lightweight, NEC V300X offers users the essential features needed to display presentations in business meetings and classrooms
