After the hacking, the attackers left a message, 'We will never forget #14/02/2019'. The cyber attack was dedicated to the martyrs, who sacrifice their lives in the Pulwama attack according to a report.

On February 14, an explosives-laden SUV rammed into a convoy carrying CRPF personnel in Pulwama. The attack killed 40 CRPF soldiers. The Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad took responsibility for the attack.

A report in Pakistani newspaper Dawn claimed that the websites of Pakistan's Foreign Ministry and Army were also hacked. The newspaper reported that the Foreign Ministry website was not functioning properly. Users from other countries such as Australia, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia and Britain were not able to access the website.
