Qualcomm launches Snapdragon 410 CPU for sub Rs 10,000 Smartphones

Qualcomm is set to join the ranks of Mediatek and Broadcom in the affordable smartphone arena with its Snapdragon 410 chipset. The company has announced that the 410 is their first-ever chipset based on 64-bit architecture and will power sub Rs 10,000 smartphones in markets like China and India.

According to the company, the new chipset has been manufactured using 28nm process technology and offers 4G LTE and 3G cellular connectivity support for all major modes and frequency bands available around the world.

The 64-bit chipset processers are capable of delivering high quality graphics output, 1080p video playback and can hold 13 MP camera. Besides these features supported, the Snapdragon 410 CPU will offer Qualcomm's Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM and NFC functionality and others like GPS, GLOSNASS as well.

The chipset will be compatible with all the known mobile platforms i.e. Android, Windows Phone and Firefox among others. Also the device will support dual and even triple SIM functionality.

Qualcomm will dispatch the Snapdragon 410 CPU for sampling early 2014 and the end-products are expected to make its way to the market for end consumers in the second half of next year. Smartphones with these features at S150 pricing will change the dynamics of mid-range smartphone market and make technology more affordable for consumers.
