Q> How can I connect my JVC Camcorder for live streaming on Youtube via HDMI? I have a JVC 3-CCD Professional Handhelp Camera. I want to connect the camera via HDMI for either live recording or YouTube Live. I don’t have an HDMI connection box, nor do I want to go out and buy one. I would like to download software and plug and play.

A> HDMI is not a bi-directional port. it just goes one way. I have never seen a computer that has an HDMI input on its motherboard. There are add-on cards that will capture HDMI but that means you need to buy one. HDMI cannot be streamed directly to the internet because it carries uncompressed video at a data rate over 2 gbps. This is a job for specialized LSI chips, you can’t overclock your motherboard by a factor of 1000x, so the general purpose CPU and support chips can’t be programmed to do it. You need the capture device to compress the video first before the computer can ingest it and relay to the internet.
