Ramco had been previously offering OnDemand ERP on SaaS model. This month they launched Ramco OnDemand ERP 2.0 (RODE 2.0), an upgrade over the previous offerring with added functionalities, features, and modules. We give a preview of these fresh features that were discussed at the product’s demo.

New modules
RODE 2.0 has added new modules for management of assets services, maintenance and process production. Previously, the modules offerred included CRM, cost planning & control, HCM, SCM, financial management and discrete production. With this solution customers can

go live in as early as 7 days. This upgrade would be seamlessly available to all 2000 users from 200+ client organizations, at no additional cost.

New features in RODE 2.0
ERP Extendability: RODE 2.0 comes with Extension Tools that include the Extension Development Kit (EDK) which allows organizations to build their own unique set of extended features to their existing functionalities, without modifying the base product source code. As a result, migration to the next version is not compromised. So organizations can build their own unique set of extended functionalities like screens or modules and integrate with the core ERP on the cloud and also create portlets (web based portals) that contain dashboards and other analytical / graphical reports, to suit specific organization’s needs. EDK is also enables making in-house changes after the solution goes live.

Report Customisation: Ramco’s Enterprise Reporting, is a tool for report layout designing, facilitates customization of reports. This tool is integrated with EDK to generate designed reports from the EDK screen, specifically termed as UDRs( User Definable Reports). The solution also helps an enterprise design customer-specific portlets.

Business Analytics: Ramco Business Analytics is a BI solution for enterprise performance management (covering strategic, tactical and operational business intelligence), information management, and data management, and offers reporting, querying, and analysis.The analytics tool can be used to conduct a simple analysis of data and processes on a real-time basis, and thereby ease decision-making.
Simple User Interface: The solution comes with an easy-to-understand user interface for ease of operation. The solution has role based navigation, screen personalisation, quick links to key data, snapshots of recent records, key reminders, alerts and advanced search option. It has intuituive web-like features, online tutorials and actionable alerts and prompts for transactions. The solution provides several options using which one can generate alerts on key transactions and thus make quick decisions on processes.

The one time implementation fee is for the creation of database, implementation of the key business processes, training, roll out and support which can range anywhere starting Rs 2L depending on various factors such as complexity of the business process being adhered to, number of locations, number of companies and finance books, training needs etc.
The monthly subscription cost is for the usage of the product and is based on the number of users and the role of the users. The starting price is as low as Rs 4000 and goes upwards depending on usability. Apart from this, there are also slab based pricing. Generally the monthly subscription price per user tends to come down if the number of users increases.

Technology powering RODE 2.0
RODE 2.0 is built on the Ramco VirtualWorks platform, which is a model-driven development platform that helps delivering applications that are composed, not coded, enabling chage on-demand. It has an SOA- based Enterprise Solution Architecture that provides a uniform, non-proprietory multi-layer architecture which works with all technolgies and infrastructure platforms and helps protect the investment.
