The Solution: The Bank deployed cloud based technologies like VDI/HSD & thin clients to deliver applications. Solutions from Citrix, viz. XenApp Server, Xen Desktop, Access Gateway, and Edgesight were used for building the solution. An application delivery architecture using the private cloud was custom designed based on extensive user profiling. This involved studying the applications used, and establishing productivity expectations of each user profile.

The Result: Innovative use of a private cloud based architecture making it possible to deliver banking applications to all branches with greater efficiency. As of now, about 1250+ users across 130 locations are using this infrastructure. The bank has reduced power consumption by 65% and cooling requirements by 50%. Lower capacity UPSs have been deployed since thick clients have been replaced by thin clients. The cost of application delivery has been reduced by 25%.
