The Realme X3 superzoom was first teased by CEO Madhav Sheth in may so the launch of the device was imminent. The Realme X3 superzoom will be the flagship killer smartphone by the company that will go head to head with the soon to be launching Oneplus Z. Realme has packed the superzoom X3 with the top of the line hardware and camera but it remains to be seen how will the device fare in the Indian smartphone market.

Looking at the specifications on the smartphone its obvious that Realme is going to be pricing the X3 Superzoom very aggressively. The Realme X3 superzoom sports a snapdragon 855 processor which is the last generation chip of the 800 series. This is a wise choice since the snapdragon 855 is still a very capable flagship processor and by going with the last generation processor realme will be able to keep the costs down. The Realme X3 superzoom sells in Europe with a 12GB Ram variant only but we think that there will be a 6GB version and an 8GB version RAM variant for the Indian market. The storage used in the Realme X3 superzoom in the European model is 256GB UFS 3.0 so the same UFS 3.0 will be used in the Indian market with the storage values being different from 256GB.

Realme X3 Superzoom

When it comes to the camera of the Realme X3 superzoom which is going to the main selling point of the smartphone, the company has gone all out. The Realme X3 superzoom sports a 64MegaPixel Samsung GW1 primary coupled with an 8MegaPixel periscope lens and an 8MegaPixel ultra-wide-angle lens added with a 2MegaPixel macro shooter. The 8-MegaPixel periscopic lens offers up to 5X Optical Zoom, 60X periscopic zoom, and also optical image stabilization OIS. The camera will also offer features like a starry mode, nightscape mode, and a pro mode using which users will be able to control all the aspects of the camera and take full advantage of the camera hardware. The front camera also sports a dual-camera setup with a 32-megapixel selfie camera with an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor to take detail-rich selfies. This something that is unique to the Realme X3 superzoom. We don’t think that the Oneplus z will sport a dual front camera setup.

Other specifications of the Realme X3 superzoom are also impressive. The smartphone will sport a 6.55-inch display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate which will make using the smartphone superfluid. The screen will have corning gorilla glass 5 to protect it. There will be a 4200mAh battery onboard powering the device with a realme version of fast-charging (dart charging) with a 30W power adapter and a type-c USB charging port. The Realme X3 superzoom has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner since the display is an LCD panel and not an IPS panel.

We don’t know the pricing of the smartphone yet but going by the realme track record we can expect the Realme X3 superzoom to be priced super aggressively. In the European markets, the X3 superzoom is selling for roughly €499 which translates to Rs. 40000 but that’s the top of the line model. We don’t expect Realme to price that smartphone at that price.
