Acer Liquid Z530 Smartphone Review

Recently Acer launched two smartphones in the Indian market - Liquid Z630s and Z530. We received both devices for review and have already shared our view about Liquid Z630s and today we are exploring Liquid Z530.

Acer Liquid Z530 Looks similar to Z630s

We found both devices similar in terms of build quality and looks. It is built with durable plastic. The front has features a plane design with round speaker gaze.

The rear cover gets brushed metallic finish. The body is not only durable but also doesn't attract smudges or scratches. It fits easily into palm, thanks to its dimensions which makes the 5-inch device easy to hold even with one hand.

Acer Liquid Z530 Bright display produces vibrant colors

This comes with 5-inch HD IPS LCD touchscreen that produces vibrant 16M colors.

The display offers good viewing angles and 1280X720p resolution. Though it has good viewing angles, but is not wide enough meaning you can't share the screen with your friends and family. With the good level of brightness, it allows you to use the device even in direct sunlight without any issue. The display supports up to 5 fingers at a time.

Acer Liquid Z530 is a powerful low-budget smartphone

The affordable Acer smartphone is equipped with 64-bit, quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735 processor, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB ROM and runs on Android 5.1 with updated Acer Liquid UI on the top of it. While testing the device we didn't see any performance lag in the phone. We played some games on it as well as other activities as well such as browsing, and it runs smoothly.

In our benchmarking, it scores 5006 on 3DMark Ice Storm Extreme, 126 on 3DMark Sling Shot, 31715 on AnTuTu, 3030 on Vellamo and 12314 on Quadrant.

Acer Liquid Z530 backed by 8 MP camera at both ends

Acer Liquid Z530 is also equipped with 8 MP camera at both ends front and rear as like Z630s. Using the rear camera, you can capture quality images in both low and bright light conditions with good detail and decent flavor of colors. However again we saw less sharpening in the low light shots at the dark parts of the images. The front camera shoots quality daylight images and perfect for selfie and groufie.

The low-budget smartphone comes with many photo enhancements like Gourmet Mode for food photographers which automatically adjusts color temperature and style for pictures of dishes; Touch to capture for focusing and capturing photos with one quick touch; Smile Shutter to capture smiles as they happen and much more. Also featuring the Acer Liquid UI, the handset is designed for anyone looking to explore the real benefits of carrying a camera with them wherever they go.

Acer Liquid Z530 lasts for a day

The smartphone packs 2,420 mAh battery that lasts for a day with moderate usage. You can play with the phone across the day. In our battery test, it lasted for 2 hours 42 min, consuming 40  battery on AnTuTu battery bench. In video test, it lasted for 6 hours 45 minutes to consume entire battery, playing video over wi-fi with full brightness and sound.
