The most popular mid-range smartphone from the house of Asus makes some noise again with its next device having quite a cool new look than previous Zenfone Max devices and stock Android. According to Asus, they designed the phone considering consumers demands, specifically India, in the mind. They wanted to bring a device that ticks all the requirements of an Indian consumer. Let's find out more about it...
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 Review: Build Quality
The phone looks stunning with the new body design. It comes in two colors Grey and Midnight Black, we got the latter one, but it looks dark navy blue than black. It has rounded edges and metal back offers great grip even while holding in one hand. The aluminum body feels solid, just one problem – it attracts smudges easily.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 Review: Screen
Zenfone Max Pro M1 comes with large 5.99-inch screen yet it fits perfectly in hands thanks to the 18:9 aspect ratio. The display has the resolution of 1080x2160 meaning you can enjoy high-resolution videos and games. With the 450nit brightness levels, it delivers great viewing experience however in direct sunlight we struggled a bit. Overall, it’s a vibrant display that produces good colors and has wide viewing angles.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 Review: Camera
Backed by dual camera setup 13+5 MP, at the back, Zenfone Max Pro M1 captures vibrant images in daylight. What we missed the ASUS PixelMaster Camera UI, where we had numerous functions. Yet, the interface is quite clean and offers some useful options to click quality images. The photos come with popping colors and sharp details. Using the depth mode you can create bokeh effect as well. in the low light conditions, images were little fuzzy.
The front 8 MP camera with its own flash captures quality selfies. the daylight sefies are good with the decent amount of details and colors. In low light conditions, the flash help you to click shots, but not seems fiery on the face.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 Review: Performance
Considering the price, the smartphone has the combination of powerful hardware and latest Android 8.1 OS. For the first time, Asus kept it stock so you won't find ZEN UI with this phone. Which we think is the right decision. It runs smoothly without any glitches. We added various apps and games to the device. It was able to handle them easily, even while running more than 4 apps and games simultaneously, there was no performance lag.
At the bottom, it has one speaker which is quite loud but music distorts badly at full volume.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 Review: Battery
Having the giant 5000 mAh battery, this phone can last for two days in one full charge with moderate usage. While watching videos over wifi with full volume and brightness, it was able to last for 13 hours 10 minutes.
