The phone sports a full metal body with curvy edges and an extremely thin body. At first glance you'll wonder if this is a new sibling of the Apple iPhone 6 Plus. The front side of the phone is covered by a black glass within which it has a 5.5-inch display and InFocus logo at the bottom. It has a dual SIM slot on the right edge of the phone.
The power key and volume rocker keys are on the left side of the phone which is slightly annoying for people using it for the first time. It may be a gift for left hand users.
The phone completely gives you a premium feel when you hold it in hand. We hardly found smudges on the metal part but the screen catches finger prints easily. InFocus phones are slightly bigger in length than a normal smartphone of the same screen size.
Good daylight camera shots
The InFocus M812 has a 13 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera, which takes good images in day light, but noise is easily visible in dark. The phone is full of camera settings to enhance your selfie or images. A user can shoot a Full HD video with this smartphone.
Average display quality
InFocus M812 lags in its display and UI. The 5.5 inch 1080p display is good on paper, with this price range, But it is not brighter compared to ASUS selfie and OnePlus 2.The UI has nothing new that we can appreciate. The Quick Settings drop down doesn't align with the rest of the UI, while the rounded icons looks attractive. While playing heavy games we can feel the full HD graphics without any lag.
Unbeatable performer
Clearly a winner here, InFocus M812 wins your heart by its speedy operations like opening an app or running multiple apps. The phone comes with Snapdragon 801 processor and 3 GB of RAM. The InFocus M812 supports heavy games like asphalt 8 or Dead trigger 2. However, sometimes we faced problems with the display, where the screen goes blank during an incoming call. During call, the voice is loud and clear and there are no call drop issues. We found heating up of the phone at back panel when you use it for long talking hours and gaming. The phone scored 41922 in Antutu benchmark.
Good battery life
InFocus M812 comes bundled with a 2900 mAh battery. It lasted for a good 10 hours and 20 minutes during our tests. On normal usage, ie, attending 15 to 20 calls, gaming of 15 minutes and music play of 1 hour, the battery lasts for almost a day which is better than other phones for this price tag.
