The LeEco Le 1S Eco (formerly LeTv x509)  is a new variant of LeEco Le 1S, slightly lower priced with a pretty much same feature.

Leshi Internet Information & Technology, known as LeEco (Formerly Letv), is a Chinese technology company. A few months back, they entered the Indian smartphone market with the launch of Le 1S and now again with another variant of Le 1S Eco X509. The company is trying to cover the budget segment, so they have launched this phone at a lower price, but with a pretty much same feature like its predecessor. The phone has the content service which offered by  LeECO, called LeEco Membership, to create a content ECOsystem.

There is no huge difference between the two variants of LeTV smartphones. They look exactly the same in terms of design, body material, sensors, and other features. The only difference you will find in both the phones is price and processing power. The LE 1S was available at Rs. 10,999 and the new variant LeTv x509 is priced at Rs. 9,999. Under the hood is 1.8 GHz processor from the same family.

The metal body looks and feels great

The device is made up of aluminum body and screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone looks good and feels very premium. In terms of dimensions and weight, LeTv x509 is exactly the same to Le 1S i.e. 169gm. The entirely metallic construction of the body makes it solid and sturdy.

The stunning 5.5-inch screen

LeTv x509 has 5.5 inches full HD IPS display. It has 10 touch points and good viewing angle. The display is sharp and vivid, which makes you love to watch movies or even playing games on this smartphone. In the display setting , it has two option one is Color mode which offers 5 different color styles such vivid, natural, soft and more. The second option is Video display enhancement , that smartly enhanced the screen color saturation and smoothness.  LeEco has played very smartly with the screen space, they consumed the space to the sides of the screen, and the top and bottom are narrow enough to give it small footprint.

Additional advantages

LeTv x509 has a beautiful mirror finished fingerprint which responds perfectly without any issue but is prone to smudges. At the top side, it has IR blaster that can be converted into a smart remote for TV, AC, etc. The metal has been beautifully carved for speaker grills with class C- type USB connector in the center. The next-gen type C connector charges the device quickly, taking max 1 hour to be fully charged from 0 to 100 percent.

The customized OS

It has customized OS skin called EUI which is based on Android v5.0.2 (Lollipop). The phone is customized in a very well planned manner, the notifications are accessed by sliding the top of the screen whereas all the setting shortcuts and recent apps are shown by tapping the navigation action button. The other thing you get in 1S Eco is a streaming service that is free of charge without spending any extra penny. All the Le TV  devices come with a complete content Ecosystem that can be accessed using built-in apps, Le Live, Levidi, Lemusic and LeDrive.

Users of this smartphone can access the LIVE app and Levidi on the 24th of May. Cloud and music services will be made available later on in the Q3 of 2016.  The LeView app is something interesting, it basically provides you tons of Eros Now videos along with accessibility to YouTube videos. You get a LeEco Membership worth 4900 rupees for free for a whole year. The built-in LeLive powered by YuppTV and offers 100 live channels. The subscription also gives you access to a 5-TB LeEco Drive cloud storage service.

Awesome Camera

About the camera, it has 13 MP rear camera with PDAF technology and 5 MP front facing for selfies. The camera app has modes like Panorama, and slow motion, etc.  Very few phones are offering the slow-motion feature at this price point.  The images captured by this phone are very sharp and has enough detailing but occasionally, you can experience focus lock issue. It captures images with good color reproduction and the low light images contain little bit noise but still produces good color and details. Same goes for the front camera, it also captures good quality selfies. The videos shoot by Le 1S Eco are pretty good with rich colors and details. It also allows you to shoot video at 4K.

Performance

The smartphone is powered by Helio X10, 1.8 GHz processor Octa core processor along with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal memory that cannot be expanded. But 32 GB is an ample amount at this price. We had done extensive multiple tasking by running multiple application about 10-12 simultaneously and played games like Frontline 2 and Asphalt Airborne 8 but didn’t find any frame drop or lag. No doubt the Le 1s Eco is a strong contender when you talk about media feature but while charging and during extensive gameplay it heats up. Watching movies on it is really a great experience for us; we played 1080p videos and the clarity was amazing. The built-in speaker is fairly decent and the phone support Dolby sound output in headphones.

The battery is an important part of any phone and everyone wants a great battery backup in their phones. So, in our battery video loop test it last for 7 hours 43 minutes which is really great. But, this disappointed us with its moderate usages, as it lasts for a day only. However, it comes with a quick charger which helps you to keep your phone charged instantly.
