Looking for a large screen phablet with excellent audio experience? LG V20 is just this with HD Audio Recorder, High AOP Mic, 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC and manual controls over the camera (Hi-Fi Video Recording, 16MP and 8 MP Wide Angle camera). It has the latest hardware, software and a solid design with swappable battery.

Cutting edge design

The 5.7 inch screen sits under a sleek metal body and Si-PC material employed in each corner offering the durability for life drops. The top and bottom edges are curved, which offer excellent grip as well as allows the phone to fit comfortably while taking calls. The phone has been designed the way it can be disabled whenever a drop occurs, reducing the damage risk. Besides, after quite a long time, we are seeing a swappable battery phone, with SIM and a card slot beneath the back cover. So, if you were looking for such a phone, this is the one for you.

Though it has a metal body with a large screen, yet the overall weight of the phone is only 174g. The dimensions are fine. LG has tried to keep the body as small as possible, yet it won't fit in every hand. The smartphone is available in different colors including Titan, Silver and Pink. LG V20 review unit we received was in silver color which looked cool.

Large QHD screen

5.7-inch QHD IPS Quantum (2560 x 1440p) display produces rich colors and images look very bright. The vibrant screen pops out every detail of video and images. It also has additional secondary IPS Quantum screen with 160 x 1040p resolutions. It could be very beneficial when you don't want to unlock the screen and want to know about the notifications, recent apps, contacts and more. It saves our time. On the other hand, sometimes it feels annoying when you don't want to be disturbed. Thankfully, LG lets you turn if off at the settings.

Dual lens, but not much impressive

If you thought of having a phone with dual lens to capture beautiful pictures, then LG won't disappoint you. At the same time you won't be very happy with the overall performance. The LG V20 includes two shooters at the back – 16 MP standard lens and an 8 MP wide-angle lens. The wide angle lens enables up to 135 degrees shot. You can shoot incredible images in both day and light, but it missed the much expected detail in the image. Especially, you will miss the details when you capture wide angle images.

The front 5 MP camera also has the capability to capture up to 120 degrees wide angle images. Even though it doesn't have flash in the front, yet for low light conditions, it turns the screen into flash, which can be beneficial for close ups, but not for wide angle selfies. For photography enthusiasts, LG offers great control with its camera app. Manual option offers amazing control over the image and you can also record 1080p or 4K videos.

B&O Play earphones come bundled with LG V20. Especially designed for the smartphone, they deliver amazing sound experience. B&O Play tuned the audio for a mesmerising experience for us. It's also equipped with the HD audio recorder & studio mode, enabling to capture studio quality audio on the go.

Spectacular performance

With no complaints, it’s one of the best smartphone considering its performance. Whether you use it as phone, or for entertainment, its striking performance would steal your heart. No lag showed even when we played high graphics intensive games. The battery is also a plus. Even with 3200 mAh battery, it can last for more than a day with moderate usage. In our battery loop test, it lasted for more than 6 hours, playing video over Wi-Fi with full volume and brightness.
