If you think about wireless drives then there are plenty of external hard drives available in the market from the leaders. You can connect these drives with any smartphone tablet or laptop and share the data wirelessly. SanDisk moved ahead to make these wireless devices even more compact and useful.

The new Connect Wireless Stick is available in different storage capacities ranging from 16 to 128 GB. You can choose one as per your requirement. We received the 16 GB review unit. Though the company is selling it as a backup device for your smartphone or digital camera etc., yet the use cases could vary.

SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick can be accessed wirelessly to stream media or transfer large files, and save and share photos and videos to and from your mobile device. With the SanDisk Connect app installed on your mobile device, you can upload, download, save, share and play all your stuff from a distance, to and from the device you want to use. You can share your pictures or your favorite music with your friends and family to up to 3 devices simultaneously. The app can also automatically backup your device's data such as photos and videos to the drive when the drive is connected. The app is available for both Android and iOS, and you can setup a password to protect your wireless connection.

The flash drive comes with inbuilt battery and a power button to switch it on and off. A small LED status indicator light is on the top of the drive. We fully charged the drive and then connected it with two smartphones - Android and Apple using the app. We were able to connect three devices simultaneously and there was no performance lag. We were able to stream media on all the devices at the same time. We also transferred data from a device to drive.

In our testing, we found the drive very responsive; the photos and files copied quickly between the drive and the mobile device using the drive's wireless connection. We also transferred the same data from PC to drive and compared the wireless and USB speeds. The wireless transfer was quite quick in comparison to PC to drive. We also configured the drive to take an automatic backup of our smartphone. It worked like a cloud storage and helps to increase the device storage capacity. The inbuilt battery takes about two hours to be fully charged and can last for up to 4.5 hours if only one device is connected with it.
