Zebronics is not a new name for PC peripherals, their product offering ranges from professional to gamers. Recently they added a new gaming mouse in the portfolio – Phobos. The mouse is targeted at gamers loaded with customisable RGB lighting, up to 4000 DPI and many other features.
Build and design
The gaming mouse Phobos sports an ergonomic design. The size will perfectly support larger and moderately sized hands. The gaming mouse looks fabulous with its RGB lighting strip that runs across its entire base. At the front, it has an aggressive angular design that uses translucent plastic. The top has a coat of matte black paint, while the sides are textured plastic panels.
The wired mouse has a gold-plated USB connection and a 1.8-meter long braided cable. The length should be enough for most gamers. The mouse feels good and looks like a gaming mouse, but the overall construction is plasticky.
Features
Phobos comes with 8 buttons, 4000 DPI and lots of customisations for a personalized gaming experience. There are two dedicated buttons just below the scroll wheel. These buttons let you preset your DPI levels. Using the accompanying software, one can change the specific DPI level. You can also choose a different colour for each DPI level.
One can customise the mouse as per his/her requirement. Using the software, users can assign different functions to the keys and enable Macro Editor features through the Windows software. On the left side, it has three programmable buttons. These buttons will come in handy while gaming, which can be programmed to do certain tasks via software.
The RGB lights come in 11 different modes that also can be customised. You can locate a dedicated button underneath the mouse that acts like an on/off button for all the lighting.
Performance
Whether you play games or work on day-to-day productivity applications, the mouse works flawlessly. I used the mouse for more than three weeks for both gaming and work. I tested the mouse on games like Fortnite, Thief, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, etc. there was no jittering. The click response was quite satisfying, as expected, it didn’t feel slow while gaming. Having a decent range of DPI and 8 customisable buttons, it worked perfectly for all games.
